out of a sudden, i was thinking of the Coachella this morning. actually i've been thinking alot about it lately, wondering when can i actually be part of the people sleeping on the grass, wake up only to plan which gig to go to, isn't that better than being in heaven ?
to rub it on, i found this link

you decide your best

i'm a believer in opportunity comes to those who are well equipped and prepared.
of course a sprinkle of luck and charms does stimulate the whole process
never disregard your ability and knowledge no matter how tough & difficult the environment is
always have faith in yourself and your ability. never listen to 'those' voices around you.
never let the negative energy gets into you. it will eat into you and eventually you'll become a very demotivated person.
success always comes with lots of hardwork. and the presence of human is in fact very tiny in the massive universe hence teamwork could work wonders all the time.
great teamwork + great guidance/direction = great companies
US Fortune magazine polled a list of top 500 companies worldwide in its July issue every year.
FORTUNE Global 500
it is ranked by sales & revenue.
just some stats (from the latest list of 2006)
1. by country -
EU - 172 companies
US - 170 companies
Japan - 70 companies
2. by city -
Tokyo - 52 companies
Paris - 27 companies
NY - 24 companies
by all means these companies promise a brighter future and a promising career growth.
if someone comes to you and tell you that he/she has just gotten into one of the company in the list which was ranked top 20.
here is the common reaction one will get (ranked from the most common to the least common)
1. so you will be leaving KL soon ah ?
2. which one, how come i've never heard of it ?(malaysian is commonly not very knowledgeable abt those companies in the list, especially those in the EU)
3. how's the pay? (this is a must-ask question)
4. where is the office ? must be in the twin towers huh.
and the list go on. but the most hilarious one is
what is Fortune 500 companies ? you switch line into fortune telling ? (ROFL)
no matter what or how, i will keep reminding myself to do my very best in everything. regrets are solely for losers.

how often do you find the right person ? ONCE

the movie tagline itself blew me away.
it's a modern musical + love story sets in the streets of dublin. the guy is an irish and the gal is an immigrant from czech. they wrote songs together and from there their unique flowers of love bloom.
i've checked out the songs in there. very much of belle & sebastian + feist. nice one.
must watch. must watch.

Gung Ho means CAN DO !

it kinda motivates me, in my current state-of-mind
This unofficial motto of the US Marine Corps is an abbreviation for the Mandarin Gongye Hezhoushe, or industrial cooperative.
The term was used in China, starting in 1938, to refer to small, industrial operations that were being established in rural China to replace the industrial centers that had been captured by the Japanese.
The phrase was clipped to the initial characters of the two words, gung ho (or gung he, as it would be transliterated today), which means "work together." This clipping became a slogan for the industrial cooperative movement.
Enter Lt. Col. Evans Carlson, US Marine Corps. Carlson was a military attache in the US embassy to China in the late-30s.
In China, Carlson reported on both the operations of the Chinese army in the field as well as the country's industrial capacity and was favorably impressed by the industrial cooperatives. When he returned to the States and the US entered WWII, Carlson was appointed commander of the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion.
Recalling his time in China, Carlson chose gung ho as the motto for his elite battalion and by late 1942 was widely adopted throughout the Marine Corps as an expression of spirit and "can do" attitude.
So the term "Gung Ho" now becomes a slang term meaning extremely enthusiastic and dedicated.

Other words and expressions that entered English during World War II include flak, gizmo, task force, black market, and hit the sack.

love will never tear us apart

the love bug, they share the same colour with my hubby
today is blardy tragic. i almost lost my husband.
so i was answering the nature call.in the midst of it, i heard a loud water dropping sound - then i looked around and see if there's any spacecraft landing on the roof of the loo or any golden treasures fallen from the sky. negative.
then when i looked into the pail of water next to me. i saw my husband was actually drowning inside. SOS ! frantically i called up the ambulance to do a simple anatomy. he was alright for a few minutes, still talking and stuff. but after that he went to a coma and can't pronounce the number 2, 4 and 9 properly. as a result, i need his PIN number and the PUK code to wake him up. but all my efforts were to no avail. then i decided not to push him too hard. i let him rest for a while.
fast-forward to an hour later.
i put all his parts together. guess what,
HE'S AWAKE !
i was SO SO SO glad to see him back to my side, although he is not as perfect as he was (his body parts is still abit jammy) but i am so happy that he chosed to stay with me and we shall age gracefully together.
MY LOVE TO YOU IS IMMORTAL - MY SONY ERICSSON K650i
i will never leave you should you not leave me.

Fafinette

collaboration of french and american !
My all-time favourite brand LeSportsac has some new injection after Diane von Furstenberg, Jonathan Adler and Tokidoki and last but not least the fashionista Gwen Stefani. this time is the french organic designer Fifi. Fifi created a story in pictures to bring to life the tale of a girl “who was looking for the magic in her life and discovers the tree that blooms LeSportsac bags.” (wow, i wish i have a forest of trees that blooms bags of all brands!)
some write-up from Lesportsac's press release on Fifi
Fafi is synonymous with whimsical, cartoon-esque depictions of girls and women and has a huge cult following of hipster girls of all ages. The Paris resident began her career as a graffiti artist and later evolved, developing clothing, jewelry, books and more, all embodying her signature aesthetic and designs. She became a household name among the fashion elite soon after she began selling her illustrated designs at Colette, the trendsetting and authoritative leader in the underground fashion world, which inspires fashionistas, designers and artists across the globe. Her playful designs exemplify young femininity while attracting a sophisticated and fashion forward audience.
for more of her work, check out http://www.fafi.net/
i LUV it. it gives me the sweet sensation of watching wizard of oz and pairing it up with graffiti. that kinda crossover. i like the white little creature, i like the trees, i like the gal's hair (the style and the colour) and the little yellow flower on the tree!
lesportsac never let me down. :-)

go get glazed

yummylicious than any heart-throbs !
The Dutch, for example, believe that eating doughnuts on New Year's Day will bring good fortune. and I, personally believe that eating doughnut whenever you're down or unhappy could cheer you up ! so I was walking to the ladies near TGIF in The Curve yesterday, then something caught my eyes - before the turn to the toilet there's this new shop reads " Big Apple Doughnut & Coffee " my heart actually skipped a beat, actually a few. then i was thinking to myself. finally, finally something has landed on this piece of land that is so deprived of quality doughnut. so i immediately answered my nature call and head back to the shop and study each of the doughnut as if i was choosing my wedding ring. heh. they hv about 10+ flavour from green tea, their signature glazed, chocolate, peanut butter, etc etc. the layout is like Beard Papa where by you can see their kitchen. each doughnut comes in a brief description (a bit like the over-rated Bread Story). here comes the million dollar question : should I eat or shouldn't I ? FYI : I've just stuffed myself with some salad from Italiannies (you know how's their portion like , aight?) and washed it down with some cold beer. looking at the size of the doughnut (it's 10% smaller than Dunkin Donuts). so i was telling myself. no harm taking just ONE doughnut into my stomache, since it won't really take up THAT much of space. done with convincing and consoling myself. i picked one glazed doughnut (reason being: its description says that's their signature donut) and left the place like a happy bird whom had just got its worms. the texture is softer than DD, the sweet sensation is pretty much the same with DD, I wish it was less sweeter, at that very moment I miss Mister Donut :-( however I will still go back there and try all the other flavours that they have. (yeah, i'm hopelessly obsessed with dough with a hole in the middle) overall i think it scored pretty much the same with DD. but wait till I've tried all of them. stay tuned. heh.
